Ingredients:
1 large potato cubed
1 medium onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
1 cup peas (I used frozen peas)
4 serrano peppers sliced
5 garlic cloves sliced
1 tbsp cumin seed
pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp chaat masala
1/4 tsp dry mango powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Chopped cilantro for garnish.
1 cup of water
1/3 cup oil
Salt to taste
Directions:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and asafoetida and saute for a minute. Then add chopped onions, serrano peppers, garlic, and saute it until onions are translucent. Then add peas and potato and saute it for 5 mins or until potatoes get brown. Then add 1 cup of water and close the lid and cook for 5-7 mins. At this point, potatoes will be cooked. If not then add a little bit of water and cook for some more time (do not add a lot of water). Then check the potatoes it will be all cooked and dry. At this point add turmeric, chaat masala, mango powder, garam masala, and chili flakes. Toss it all together and do not close the lid. If required add 1 or 2 tbsp oil and add chopped cilantro. In a minute or 2 your dish will be ready to serve.
