Ingredients:
For Frying
1 chicken breast cut in cubes
1 tbsp kashmiri chili powder
1 tbsp garam masala
2 tbsp corn starch
1 tbsp rice flour
Salt to taste
Oil to Fry
For Gravy
3 tbsp oil (use leftover oil from frying chicken)
10-12 garlic chopped
1 inch ginger chopped
4-6 chopped green chilies
1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 strand curry leaves
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1/4 cup warm water
Pinch of red food color (optional)
Directions:
In a bowl add cut chicken pieces and add in 1 egg, corn flour, rice flour, salt, chili powder, and garam masala. Mix it all together to coat the chicken pieces. Batter should not be thick or running. Let it rest for 15 mins and then heat oil in wok. When the oil is hot add chicken pieces and fry in batches.
In a separate pan add 3 tbsp oil. Once the oil is heated add in chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies and curry leaves. Let it saute for 3-5 mins or until garlic is cooked. Then add in ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell is gone. Now add in chili powder, garam masala and ketchup. Add in 1/4 cup warm water and bring it to a boil. When oil separates from the masala add in the fried chicken and give it a toss. Mix well to coat each piece with the spices. Serve it as appetizer or main course. Enjoy!!
