Ingredients:
1 cup cut bhindi/okra
1 cup cooked chickpeas
1/2 onion chopped
1 small tomato chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp cumin seed
Pinch of asafetida
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp fennel powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 cup warm water
Oil
Salt to taste
Directions:
Step 1
Heat oil in a pan and add cut bhindi. Saute it till golden brown and add little salt. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
Step 2
Heat oil in pan and add cumin seed and asafetida. Add in chopped onions and cook till it changes color and becomes translucent. Now add in ginger garlic paste and saute for 3 mins. Then add in turmeric, chili, coriander and fennel powder. Let it saute for 1 min then add in tomatoes and salt. Cook till tomatoes are dissolves then add in cooked chickpeas and 1 cup warm water. Cover and cook till oil is separated and masala is cooked. Then add in the bhindi and mix it all together. Serve it with roti or rice.
